TORRINGTON, Wyo. — The Eastern Wyoming College volleyball team came close to walking away from the first day of the Wyo-Braska Shootout on Thursday with an unbeaten record.

But the Lancers, who opened the day with a convincing win over McCook Community College, couldn’t muster quite enough firepower late Thursday night to overcome Air Force Prep in a five-set thriller.

MCCOOK - A long roadtrip to McCook didn’t bother the Central Community College volleyball team.

The Raiders swept the season series from McCook Community College in taking a 25-14, 25-17, 25-14 win Wednesday in McCook.

“McCook is really a tough place to play,” CCC coach Mary Young said. “It’s a small atmosphere and very loud. It was a long road trip. McCook really fought hard as it seemed like they scored more than 14 points in sets one and three.”
